Christophermarlowe Beaten and Ryan Moore Continues Great Start
There was some really good racing over the weekend and we hope you got involved with our betting tips as we landed a lovely 5/1 winner opposing the 8/15 favourite. Read on as we round up the big results from the weekend.
Christophermarlowe and Frankie Detrori Beaten
Kilimanjaro won the Lingfield Derby Trial, landing our 5/1 betting tip and meaning that we had a very champagne-heavy weekend! Hope you got on the tip and did likewise!
Christophermarlowe, ridden by Frankie Dettori was sent off at odds of just 2/5 and was expected to win with room to spare but given the start to the season Ryan Moore and Aiden O’Brien have made we felt it was no real surprise to see Kilimanjaro do the business.
Kilimanjaro could now well run in the Derby though the trainer has plenty of options, and the way he timed his run here will certainly have encouraged O’Brien. Christophermarlowe could only manage third, with Magic Dancer running in second and Josh Gosden, the trainer of the unbeaten pre-race favourite, said his horse found the going too testing.
Speculative Bid Makes us Even Richer in the Victoria Cup
Our weekend really was lucrative as our tip for the Victoria Cup also did the business. Like Kilimanjaro, David Elsworth’s four-year-old came from the back to win and though he went off at odds of 10/1, we tipped him at a very nice 14/1 each way – hope you got involved with that!
It was a fine ride by Jamie Spencer and the gelding caused a big upset to finish ahead of Lincoln, Hawkeyethenoo and Buckstay. The owners scooped a very nice £63,495 from thee win and though it was close, there can be no doubting the excellent timing of the ride. Just two furlongs out he was right at the back but he worked his way through the pack superbly and could well be one to watch having now won three in a row over the seven-furlong distance.
Given our current form we have to say you’d probably be bonkers not to check out our Duke of York betting tips – don’t miss out on another winner!
