The most southerly of the Yorkshire tracks, Doncaster is also the most historically significant. Home to both flat and National Hunt action, this busy course operates all year round. It is for events on the level that the course is most well-known, courtesy of the track’s most prestigious race, the St Leger Stakes.
Taking place in September each year, the St Leger is the final Classic of the British season and is also the oldest of them all having first taken place back in 1776. The St Leger is however just one of several quality contests at the track, with further highlights including the Vertem Futurity Stakes of October on the flat, and the Great Yorkshire Chase in January.
