The final field of 34 runners for the 2024 Grand National is now set following the declarations for the Aintree feature. With the ground likely to be testing at the Merseyside racecourse this year, it is unclear who will go off as the favourite.
Here is a look at the horses that are in the frame to top the betting for the world’s most famous steeplechase.
Corach Rambler
Since winning the race last April, Corach Rambler has been the favourite to repeat his triumph in the 2024 renewal of the 4m2f contest. Lucinda Russell’s runner tops the latest betting on the Grand National at 5/1.

The Scottish-trained horse has been one of the most popular Grand National 2024 tips following his run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last month. He came home in third place behind leading 3m chasers Galopin Des Champs and Gerri Colombe respectively.
The defending champion is likely to have plenty of supporters on the day of the race as horse racing fans will remember how impressive he was 12 months ago. Tiger Roll won back-to-back renewals of this contest in 2019, and the two-time Ultima Handicap Chase winner could replicate that achievement.
A Willie Mullins-Trained Runner
I Am Maximus, Meetingofthewater and Mr Incredible have all been well-backed for the Grand National in recent weeks. The former, in particular, is proving popular, as he bids to add to his triumph in the Irish Grand National last year.

Mullins had seven winners at the Cheltenham Festival in 2024. He landed the biggest race of that meeting again, as Galopin Des Champs prevailed in the Cheltenham Gold Cup on the final day.
Ireland’s record in this race is excellent, as they have won five of the last seven renewals. Many punters will turn to Mullins to give the country more glory, and he has one of his strongest ever hands in the contest.
Kitty’s Light Can Make a Large Surge for Top Position
When the weights for this year’s Grand National were announced back in February, it looked as though Kitty’s Light was going to miss out on a place in the field. However, with multiple withdrawals, he has now snuck into the race as the 34th runner.
Christian Williams runner won Ayr’s Scottish Grand National 12 months ago. He outstayed his rivals in that contest over 4m. He also won a leading staying handicap chase at Sandown last April in what proved an excellent month for the horse.
Kitty’s Light’s odds have tumbled since he was declared for the race at the 48-hour stage. He will be bidding to become the first Welsh-trained horse since 1905 to prevail in the Aintree showpiece event. With some late confidence behind him, it would be no surprise if he started the race as the favourite.
Millions are set to tune into the race at Aintree on Saturday in what is one of the leading event on the British sporting calendar. The winning horse, jockey, trainer and owner will all join the special roll of honour board, in what will be one of the highlights of their career.
