Key Meeting’s Usually Safe from the Elements
Uttoxeter’s biggest meeting of the year is their Midland’s Grand National fixture which takes place on the Saturday following the Cheltenham Festival in mind-March. As a result, this doesn’t tend to suffer from inclement weather however the race was lost in 2004 due to high wind and in 1983 due to a waterlogged track.
Uttoxeter is one of a handful of course which provide jump racing though the summer months. Although these rarely face cancellations, watering of the track may be needed to prevent fast going.
