This independently owned racecourse is situated less than a mile from the historic market town of Pontefract in West Yorkshire.
Dedicated exclusively to the flat racing arm of the sport, the track operates predominantly during the warmer months of the year, with the season running from April through to October. Pontefract’s proximity to the urban hubs of Leeds, Bradford, and Sheffield helps to draw in the crowds, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere at most meetings.
A scattering of five Listed class events, including the Pontefract Castle Stakes in June, provides a steady stream of decent quality action across the season.
