This Somerset track in Orchard Portman, two miles to the south of the town from which it takes its name, first opened for business in 1927. Despite that near 100-year lifespan, the course is nevertheless the youngest of Britain’s National Hunt venues.
A small, rural track, Taunton benefits from a prime spot at the foot of the Blackdown Hills and offers a traditional countryside race day experience. Playing host to around 15 meetings per year, the season runs from October through to April.
