Cartmel racecourse sits on the outskirts of the Cumbrian town of the same name, just to the south of the Lake District. Despite being a National Hunt-only venue, the track operates exclusively during the warmer months of the year, usually staging a total of nine meetings between late May and the end of August.
Hugely popular with holidaymakers in the area, Cartmel boasts one of the highest average attendances in the UK. The track’s most valuable event of the Cumbria Crystal Hurdle is the headline act of the two-day July meeting.
