Of the two tracks which reside in the county of Nottinghamshire, Southwell Racecourse is by some distance the busiest.
The bulk of the 50+ fixtures are all-weather flat events, but Southwell also stages regular jumping action almost throughout the year, with January and February being the only blank months.
Whilst the overall standard of the racing is distinctly average, the track does take part in the valuable All-Weather Championship Series.
