Scotland’s only racecourse that is restricted solely to flat racing lies in the town of Hamilton around 11 miles to the south of Glasgow.
The bulk of the season comes during the warmer months of the year, running from an opening meeting in early May, through to a finale in late October. The highlight of the campaign is the Listed class Glasgow Stakes which sees a field of three year olds do battle over a mile and a half.
