While the track hosts regular fixtures throughout the summer, several themed meetings and the ever-popular Brighton Festival ensure there is plenty to look forward to from the opening evening of the season right through to October.

Season Opener (April)

The gates swing open for another year of racing with Brighton’s traditional evening curtain-raiser. As spring arrives on the South Coast, racegoers can enjoy the first opportunity of the season to take in the action from the unique hilltop venue overlooking the English Channel.

  • Usually held as an evening meeting in mid-April
  • Marks the beginning of Brighton’s Flat racing season
  • Popular after-work fixture with a relaxed atmosphere

Retro Day (May)

Brighton takes a step back in time with one of its most entertaining themed race days. Vintage fashion, nostalgic music and a fun-filled atmosphere accompany a competitive afternoon of Flat racing, making it a favourite among regular racegoers.

  • Staged towards the end of May
  • Features retro-themed entertainment alongside the racing
  • One of the racecourse’s most popular social fixtures

Brighton Festival (August)

The highlight of Brighton’s calendar is a three-day festival that attracts some of the largest crowds of the year. The meeting blends quality racing with a lively holiday atmosphere, while the Brighton Mile Challenge Trophy provides the sporting centrepiece.

  • Three-day festival held on the first Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of August
  • Headlined by the Brighton Mile Challenge Trophy Handicap
  • The racecourse’s biggest annual meeting, attracting large crowds across all three days

Season Finale (October)

Brighton’s final fixture brings another Flat season to a close before attention turns towards the winter months. It’s a fitting farewell to racing by the sea, with one last competitive card for owners, trainers and racegoers alike.

  • Traditionally held in mid-October
  • Closes the racecourse’s annual programme
  • Final chance to enjoy Flat racing at Brighton until the following spring
